An hour and a half away by car, the temples of Selinunte are a fascinating sight that will take you back to the dawn of European civilization, when the gods of Olympus walked the earth and the great Homeric heroes challenged them in epic battles.
Being the largest archaeological park in Europe, Selinunte offers the vestiges of an entire city with the narrow streets of the acropolis, the hills surmounted by temples, sanctuaries and necropolises.
Equally fascinating is a visit to the nearby Cusa quarries, from where the material for construction was extracted.
An itinerary certainly of visual impact whose details can be found on the official website
